Designed for a sloping site beneath Austin’s evergreen oaks, this family home turns topography into opportunity through an inverted layout that places daily living at the treetops and private rooms below. The main level gathers the kitchen, family spaces, and primary suite around expansive views, while the lower floor opens seamlessly to a terrace and pool, filled with unexpected light. Warm, tactile materials soften the home’s scale, balancing a refined, European-leaning sensibility above with a quieter, more contemporary mood below. Plaster, oak, and natural stone create a layered, collected atmosphere that feels intimate rather than formal. Thoughtful and adaptable, the house is designed to support the rhythms of a busy family while aging gracefully over time.
