We are seeking a full time Millwork and Cabinetry Detailer to support the detailed design and construction documentation for high end residential, commercial, and hospitality projects. The candidate will have a proven record of successfully working independently and collaboratively to develop detailed drawings and provide solutions to highly-imaginative design challenges. Expert CAD drafting skills are a must along with experience and an understating of how millwork interfaces with adjacent trades.  The ability to think in 3-dimensions is essential.  Experience with furniture design and/or product design is a plus.

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Interpret the architect’s or interior designer’s design concepts for millwork and cabinetry and prepare complete, detailed, and accurate CAD drawings
  • Specify material, hardware, and electrical/lighting specifications
  • Participate in design meetings and client discussions as needed
  • Prepare approval drawings that ensure all the essential product information is approved by the client
  • Participate in value engineering reviews and assist in developing creative solutions for budget management
  • During construction, review submittals and shop drawings and respond to requests for information
  • Ensure detailed documents adhere to RSA high standards for quality control, accuracy, and formatting
  • Assist in setting up and establishing RSA standards for millwork and cabinetry
  • Coordinate and communicate frequently with project team members to update the job progress or incorporate design changes. Collaborate with project team members on schedule, cost, and scope, and work within allotted timeframes and fees.
  • Effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Prioritize workload and communicate issues to ensure on time completion of jobs
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • Associates degree or higher in architecture, interior design, product design, or a related field preferred. 10+ years experience.
  • Strong knowledge of joinery, hardware, and AWI standards
  • Proven ability drafting complex architectural millwork and furniture including a multitude of materials including veneer, solid wood, plastic laminate, metal, glass, acrylic and upholstery
  • Understanding of fabrication and manufacturing processes
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, knowledge of Revit and/other 3D drawing software very desirable
  • Love of details and minutia
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
  • Ability to work in a professional manner and collaboratively in a diverse environment with all levels of employees
